BANANAS USED IN DARING SHOPLIFTING RAID

A shoplifter used bananas as a weapon to get away with stolen merchandise from a Lehighton, Pennsylvania Walmart. Michael Rehrig, 32, was trying to get away with more than $500 worth of electronics Sunday. He allegedly threw a bunch of bananas at an employee and left the store with a television and a vacuum cleaner. Investigators also claim Rehrig was involved in two thefts from the same store Saturday in which three TVs were stolen. Michael’s brother Troy Rehrig, 29, is also wanted on charges for a theft from the same store in September.
* They come from the same bad bunch.
* That weapon was loaded … loaded with potassium.
* I like his dexterity. I don’t think I could throw bananas while carrying a TV and a vacuum cleaner.
* Of course, it sounds like he’s had a lot of practice.
* Did the brother steal TVs? Or maybe he grabbed the tables to put them on.
* I see some of our shoppers are not waiting for the Black Friday deals.
* The electronics were worth $500, but remember – it’s Walmart. At another store it would have been closer to $650.
* Maybe the store should think about getting some security, or am I way off base here?
* “Is that a banana in your pocket or are you just here to rob us?”
* The one guy took 4 televisions? He must have the best man cave in Pennsylvania.
* The vacuum cleaner must be for all the potato chip crumbs around the TVs.
