PASSENGER SPOTS FUEL LEAK

ExpressJet Airlines Flight 2762, an American Eagle flight bound for Dallas-Fort Worth, landed in Huntsville, Alabama, after a passenger spotted fuel leaking from the wing. Passenger Adam Hensley said that a man sitting behind him noticed fuel leaking out of the wing and alerted a flight attendant, who contacted the captain, who emerged from the cockpit to take a look, then decided to divert the plane. “The flight crew did an amazing job,” Hensley said. “There was no panic.” The flight landed without incident, and a replacement aircraft was called up.
* Don’t you just hate it when you forget to put the gas cap back on?
* I’m glad someone’s paying attention up there.
* I’m not an aviation expert but I consider fuel to be a vital part of the flying experience.
* So what was it? A gremlin on the wing from that “Twilight Zone” episode?
* Oh well, I suppose they would have found out about it sooner or later.
* The next clue would have been when the ground started getting closer really, really fast.
* “The flight crew did an amazing job”? If you say so.
* The flight crew did an amazing job. The ground crew checking out the plane, not so much.
