GIRL SCOUT COOKIES GOING UP TO $5 PER BOX
Girl scout troops in several areas of the U.S. are set to hike the price of a box of cookies to $5 from $4. So far, troops in eastern Massachusetts and California plan to raise their cookie prices for the first time in eight years. The $5 price tag will boost profits for the Girl Scouts to $0.90 per box, up from a $0.62 when the boxes were $4, according to the Scouts organization.
* You had me at “Girl Scout Cookies.”
* So now the Thin Mints will make your wallet thinner.
* Higher prices call for some adjustments to the cookie names. Here are a few, before and after the price hike:
– Do-si-do / Do-si-D’OH!
– Savannah Smiles / Savannah Frowns
– Cranberry Citrus Crisps / Cranberry Citrus Gyps
– Rah-Rah Raisins / Ripoff Raisins
– Toffee-tastic / Toffee-meh
– Thanks-A-Lot / Thanks-A-Lot-Obama
* Watch … I bet somehow Trump makes this a campaign issue.
* Crap! The Federal Reserve has been warning us inflation could return, and here it is.
* At least it’s for an absolute necessity and not something frivolous.
* Now if stamps went up 3 cents? That’s when we start complaining.
* Wait – only eastern Massachusetts and California? So most of the country dodged a bullet. A delicious bullet that’s great dipped in milk.
