GUY SET FIRE TO GRANDMA'S HOUSE BECAUSE "HE HAD TO CLEAN IT"
A Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, man who set fire to his grandmother’s home while she was sleeping inside, said he lit the fire because had to clean the house. Pennsylvania State Police said that June Rhone, 85, woke up around 1:45 a.m. Sunday to the sound of smoke detectors in her home going off, and noticed smoke in her bedroom. She heard Christopher Rhone, her 36-year-old grandson, telling her “Get out, grandma. The house is on fire. I set it.” June Rhone left her residence and walked to her sons’ house. Shortly after, Christopher Rhone came to the house and repeatedly said, “I’m sorry grandma. Take care of my dog.” When asked why he set the fire, Rhone said, “I’m sorry, I had to clean it. Grandma’s house was dirty. I had to clean it.”
* I believe the word he meant to use was ‘cleanse’, not ‘clean’.
* You know, you don’t have to burn things to sterilize them. We have Lysol now.
* I don’t understand this guy. Who cleans a house at 1:45 in the morning?
* “Over the river and through the woods, to grandmother’s house we go … with a torch.”
* That’s a bad combination: mental issues and arson.
* Grandma’s priorities now are 1) Find a place to live and 2) Change her will.
* He’s sorry now and wants grandma to take care of his dog? The apology was nice but don’t push it, son.
* Well, here’s one grandparent who won’t be bragging about the grandkids much.
* I’m sensing we don’t have an honor student here either.
