GUY KIDNAPS OLD MAN OFF STREET, FEEDS HIM

In Danbury, Connecticut, a 77-year old man was pushing a carriage of cans and bottles down the street when he was approached by a stranger, later identified as David Pope. Assuming the old man was homeless, Pope grabbed him by the arm, escorted him back to his residence, and then brought him inside. While they were inside the home, Pope’s pit bull bit the victim’s leg. Even after the dog bite, Pope proceeded to feed the old man. Eventually, he was able to leave Pope’s house without being detected, went to his own house and called police. Pope, who appeared drunk to police, told them he thought the victim was homeless and was offering him food. He was charged with second-degree kidnapping, second-degree reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, and interfering with the duties of an officer.
* This country is going down the tubes. You can’t even walk the streets these days without getting a free meal.
* And a dog bite.
* The dog was thinking, “Can’t you bring me one with more meat on him?”
* Maybe the guy was driven to madness as a child by a million Pope jokes.
* You know how cruel kids can be … making him a tall hat and asking him for a blessing.
* I don’t care if it’s a 5-star meal. It’s not worth a bite from a pit bull.
* Wow, they really let him have it. They charged him with everything but the Kennedy assassination.
* Thank God they stopped the guy before he killed someone with kindness.
