VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY IN TROUBLE FOR NAUGHTY BANNERS

The Sigma Nu fraternity national organization has suspended activities at the house at Old Dominion University in Norfolk after the frat hung three large banners from the balcony of a private home near the campus. The banners included one stating “Freshman Daughter Drop Off”, “Hope your baby girl is ready for a good time” and “Go ahead and drop mom off, too”. The banners stirred outrage on social media and condemnation from university officials and student leaders. Sigma Nu aid any fraternity members found responsible would be held accountable. Its statement says it also condemns the derogatory and demeaning language used on the banners.
* Not so fast, said the moms at Old Dominion.
* No girls, no beer, no vaguely homosexual hazing…what do fraternities actually do these days?
* I thought it was actually quite inclusive of the frat brothers to offer to do the mothers too.
* What, what did I say?
* Let me start again: This is a repulsive display of wanton sexual lust and it won’t be tolerated.
* Let’s look at the positive side of the banners: At least these students can write.
