DAYS INN: MAN DIES IN VOMIT AND BLOOD, MATTRESS FLIPPED OVER
A group of African-American workers has filed a lawsuit against their former employer at a Days Inn hotel in Tampa, Florida, claiming they faced discrimination and other hardships on the job. In one case, an employee said she was forced to flip over a mattress where a guest had died in preparation for the next guest to check in. Plaintiff Charlena Williams said she was forced to clean a hotel room where a body was found in July 2014. Williams claims in the suit that the hotel did not use proper health and safety measures to clean blood, vomit and other fluids from the room before booking new guests to stay there. Williams also said that instead of replacing the mattress where the body was found, she was instructed just to flip it over.
* So? That’s what we did at our frat house.
* Vomit and blood? What was it, the Ebola Suite?
* The plaintiff also said that after Lucifer was summoned with the human sacrifice, he was very rude to her, calling her names and causing emotional distress.
* Discrimination? So – Days Inn never makes white employees clean up the residue from dead bodies? That’s not right.
* That’s it. I’m never going on vacation anywhere again.
* Now the hotel is claiming the death was part of their express checkout program.
* “The mattress where the body was found.” Now there’s a phrase with trouble written all over it.
* Then there’s also the dreaded phrase: “Other fluids.”
