DARTH VADER ADOPTS-A-HIGHWAY
Darth Vader has adopted a highway in Virginia. The stretch of U.S. 460 near Toms Creek Road Bridge in Blacksburg has actually been adopted by Montgomery County Schools bus driver Henry Wakley. He thought it would be funny for people to drive by, see the sign first and then actually see someone dressed as Darth Vader picking up trash. Wakley has cleaned the highway twice in the last 10 months, donning a Vader mask both times. He’ll be back out cleaning the roadway this month. Wakley is not the first newsworthy highway adoption, both Bette Midler and the late Robin Williams adopted highways in the 1990s. A neo-nazi group adopted a Delaware highway in 2011, and the KKK tried and failed to adopt a highway in Georgia.
* The nerd is strong with this one.
* So, Luke and Leia have an adopted brother named US 460?
* Don’t litter – it’s wrong. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.
* And speaking of stuff that will end up in the landfill, how about those three Star Wars prequels, huh?
* By the way, the KKK was denied because they said they’d only pick up white trash.
* I hate these unrealistic ones. Everyone knows Anakin was born on an unknown planet and raised on Tatooine.
* Now whether he adopted a highway there, I’m not sure.
* I do now that after he got hurt by the volcano and became Darth, he didn’t seem like the kind of a guy who would adopt a highway.
* Oh well, maybe they’ll address this in the new movie.
