FLORIDA CYCLIST CRASHES ON SQUISHED ALLIGATOR

Tim Nicholls worked 22 years as a police officer and survived three bicycle accidents with cars. But on Saturday, Nicholls, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, was injured when his elite cycling group skidded over alligator remains. His bicycle torqued 90 degrees left, his face hit the concrete and trailing cyclists ran over him as they tried to stop. He is in Broward Health Medical Center intensive care with multiple facial fractures, five broken ribs, a broken clavicle and a collapsed lung. Said his wife, Mary Nicholls, “Three car accidents and now an alligator. What are the chances?”
* Obviously, the chances are 100%.
* And the chances he quits cycling? Pretty good.
* The takeaway here is, these elite cyclists need to have a bigger following distance.
* One way or another, that alligator was determined to get even.
* Just be glad the alligator wasn’t still alive.
* I guess evolution didn’t prepare the alligator for crossing roads.
* And that’s when the Burmese python grabbed him.
* Then the pelican landed on his bike.
