FLOOR COLLAPSES UNDER TOO MANY RECORDS

On Monday morning, the second floor of Thrift Trader, a shop in the Hillcrest suburb of San Diego, collapsed under the weight of vinyl records. The collapse happened around 4 a.m.; no one was injured. Officials say the mezzanine was overloaded with vinyl records, causing the collapse of that floor. The owner says he will be contacting structural engineers to determine what needs to be done so the business can reopen.
* And somewhere, a million hipster voices suddenly cried out in sorrow.
* That’s why it’s called Heavy Metal music, man.
* It was probably all those old “Frampton Comes Alive” double albums everyone is trying to re-sell.
* Should I take a moment to explain what vinyl records are?
* Say what you want about today’s music, but my MP3 files never collapsed.
* The whole record industry collapsed. Why should this be any different?
* Even if the downloads today could collapse they wouldn’t ’cause the music is too lightweight.
