CAR THIEF DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE STICK, CALLS A CAB
Police in Logan, Utah say a man tried to steal a car, then had to call a cab after he couldn’t figure out how to use a stick shift. Officers arrested Alexander Katz on Tuesday after the 19-year-old and his underage girlfriend allegedly stole a car with the keys still inside. Katz’ girlfriend knew how to drive a stick and attempted to walk him through the process. Police don’t know why she didn’t just walk around and get in the driver’s seat herself. Eventually, the pair ditched the car at a supermarket parking lot and fled on foot to a nearby gas station where they called a cab. When the duo saw police, they ran off again. Katz’s girlfriend was soon arrested. Katz was arrested a few hours later after police found him, using information he had given the taxi company.
* They took the car for an un-joyride.
* On top of everything else, now they have to pay for a new clutch.
* The embarrassing part was when Alexander was stripping the gears and kids on the street were yelling “Grind me a pound!”
* Ahh, young love. It’s June and a man and his underage girlfriend naturally feel like stealing something.
* They might not have stolen the car, but darn it, they stole our hearts.
* She “didn’t just walk around and get in the driver’s seat herself” because she didn’t have a license and that would have been illegal.
* My guess: It was the most excitement they’ve had in Logan, Utah in years.
* You can tell Logan, Utah is stuck in another time. I mean who leaves their keys in the car anymore?
* Logan was named after an early fur trapper so right there you get a flavor of where the town is coming from.
