BOSS WHO MOCKED THOSE WHO GOT FIRED IS FIRED
A J.Crew vice president who mocked the members of his team who had been fired, has been fired. Alejandro Rhett, vice president of men’s merchandising, had fired several workers who were among the 175 layoffs at the struggling company on June 10. He then went out and celebrated the axings with two work buddies at a Linen Hall bar in New York City’s East Village, where he recorded the night with heartless hashtags, including “#gonegirl,” “#hungergames” and “#maytheoddsbeeverinyourfavor.” He posted pictures of him and his friends drinking and, in one shot, literally “jumping for joy” that they still had jobs. A company spokesperson said that the J. Crew company “does not condone” their behavior and added: “As soon as we were made aware, the appropriate actions took place.”
* “Bartender, I’ll have a double shot of karma.”
* And now his career is on the rocks.
* This isn’t helping the stereotype of heartless executives.
* If this is the team spirit at J. Crew, it’s no wonder they’re struggling.
* What’s the opposite of taking a picture of yourself “jumping for joy”? Planking?
* Okay, it didn’t work out. But for that one night of heavy drinking, the world seemed like a wonderful place.
* Don’t worry. You can always use your pink slip as a cocktail napkin.
* Cher had a song for occasions like this. It’s called, “If I Could Turn Back Time.”
