MAN INJURED BY PIZZA HUT CROUTONS
A man who claimed he broke a partial denture eating a crouton at a Pizza Hut in Harriman, Tennessee, won a $2400 judgment against the restaurant on Friday. Everett Chatman sued the company after claiming he was a victim of “excessively hard croutons” at one of its restaurants. Chatman said he suffered personal injury and damaged a specialized partial denture. His attorney said Chatman tried to negotiate with the restaurant to no avail, so he decided to sue.
* $2400. That’s not a lot of bread.
* Still, when he heard the verdict, he cracked a smile.
* A crouton? Who goes to pizza hut to eat a salad?
* “Excessively hard,” as in, baked in 1957.
* If it wasn’t a partial denture before, it is now.
* In fact, Pizza Hut should argue that it’s part of their two for one denture special.
* How hard were the croutons? Very hard. They’re using them to fill potholes on the highway.
* These croutons come with a steak knife and a hammer.
