MOM ALLOWS DAUGHTER TO DRIVE, GETS RUN OVER – June 12

A woman in Georgia allowed her 13-year-old daughter to drive her SUV during a school drop-off – and was run over by the teenager. Investigators said Shumeka Johnson’s 13-year-old daughter was behind the wheel of a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica that was stopped in Brumby Elementary School’s drop-off lane. The SUV suddenly accelerated forward and struck Johnson, who was standing in front of it. The vehicle then “came to a final rest on top of her.” She suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. Now, Ms. Johnson, 35, has been charged with reckless conduct.
* Adding insult to injury, literally.
* “Mom, maybe I should practice driving in an empty parking lot?” “But the student pick-up lane at the elementary school is so much closer!”
* The weird part? She was standing in front of the car to show the crossing guard how safe it was.
* You ever get that run down feeling?
