BULLFIGHTER GORED IN THE RECTUM – Apr 21

A Spanish toreador was in “very serious” condition after a bull’s horn reportedly perforated his rectum during a bullfight. Jose Antonio Morante Camacho, better known for his ring name as Morante de la Puebla, was competing with the fourth bull of the afternoon, named ‘Clandestino’, at La Maestranza bullring in Seville. He was reportedly trying to control the bull when it charged at his chest and knocked him down. As he tried to evade the bull, one of its horns caught him in the buttocks. Morante was rushed to a hospital and a medical report revealed the extent of his injures following a two hour surgery: a “bull horn wound on the posterior anal margin with a trajectory of about 10cm, partially damaging the anal sphincter muscles with a perforation of the posterior wall of the rectum of 1.5cm.”
