BURGLAR STEALS $58,000 COUCH SET – Apr 6

A Los Angeles burglar stole a 21-piece, $58,000 sofa set from a downtown furniture store. The theft occurred at Merit, a high-end furniture store in downtown Los Angeles. The furniture set was a Mah Jong sofa by Roche Bobois. It’s a sectional – seven loveseat-sized sections, each sitting on platform, with each piece weiging 30 to 40 pounds. Surveillance footage showed a white van backing into the store. Store owner Paul Bearman said, “It was a lot of effort to steal that sofa.” Authorities and victims believe the culprit is Zack Vincler, who has a documented criminal history of stealing high-end furniture. In fact, there is a webpage called “Stolen by Zack Vincler” to alert buyers to luxury items he may have stolen.
* He saw it in a window and just had to have it.
* Geeze, how many living rooms does this Zack guy have?
* A $58,000 couch set. Who’s the real thief here?
* Relax. You know the markup on posh Los Angeles furniture? It was probably imported from China for 1500 bucks.
* Imagine the amount of loose change you can find under THOSE couch cushions.
