KAYAKERS HIT BY HOT AIR BALLOON – Mar 17
Two kayakers in Canberra, Australia, were paddling Lake Burley Griffin watching the first day of the annual Canberra Balloon Spectacular. During the launch, some balloons like to fly low over the lake and skim the water. Eric Vu and William Lam didn’t see one of the balloons approaching behind them. By the time they saw it, it was too late to paddle out of the way. BAM! The men went into the water. They were both wearing life jackets and escaped without injury or losing any belongings. Mr. Vu described the experience as “hilarious.” The pilot of the hot air balloon later contacted the men and offered them a free flight.
* So he decided to kill them another way.
* They didn’t lose any belongings? Good – a lot of the balloonists float up behind you and lift your wallets.
* Is everything upside-down in Australia? Balloons are supposed to fly up in the sky, not skim along the ground.
* Drop your hot air balloon on the kayakers. Wasn’t that an Atari arcade game back in the 80’s?
