UNLICENSED DENTIST QUITS HALFWAY THROUGH ROOT CANAL – Mar 10

In South River, New Jersey, a woman was arrested for performing dental work without a license after she attempted a root canal on a man but couldn’t finish the job. The victim told investigators he saw an ad for Ana Amato in a group chat on WhatsApp. He agreed to pay her $1,000 for a root canal. When he arrived for his appointment at her office, she injected his gum with an anesthetic and then drilled his tooth and started the procedure before abruptly stopping, telling the man to return later in the week. But before he could return, Amato informed him she couldn’t finish the procedure and gave him a list of other dentists. Then she refused to return his $300 down payment. He complained to police, with gauze in his bleeding mouth. Cops determined the Amato was not licensed to practice. She was arrested and charged with unlawful practice of dentistry.
* It’s nice to see women expanding into the field of unlicensed dentistry. It’s been male-dominated for so long.
* When they arrested her, they said, “Come on, you know the drill.” And she said, “Actually I don’t, I’m a fake dentist.”
* Who knew getting a root canal could be horrible in a whole new way?
* And she can’t write prescription for painkillers. Bummer.
