BOY FALLS FROM APARTMENT WINDOW, IS CAUGHT BY MAN BELOW – Feb 24

In St Petersburg, Russia, a seven-year-old boy plunged from an 80ft apartment window, but was saved by a window cleaner standing on the ground. Khairullo Ibadullayev, 37, spotted the boy at the window, yelled for him to get back inside and then sprinted to a spot directly beneath the boy just as he suddenly dropped from the high-rise. Mr. Ibadullayev broke the boy’s fall with his hands, then was struck forcefully in the chest, causing both to crash into deep snow. Afterwards, the boy wasn’t breathing, so Mr. Ibadullayev started performing chest compressions, and then heard the boy gasp. The boy went to intensive care in stable condition with fractures to his lower legs. Ibadullayev hurt his ribs and arm, but was able to walk away without any serious injuries. The boy’s mother said she was in the kitchen and came out to find the window wide open but her boy no longer there.
