AUDIO: NEW YORK WINS MISS AMERICA

Was anybody aware that there was a Miss America contest over the weekend? On Sunday night, Miss New York won the annual pageant. 27-year-old Cassie Donegan claimed victory after two nights of INTENSE COMPETITION against contenders from all 50 states, along with the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. The other four finalists were Miss Texas, Miss Florida, Miss Georgia and Miss Alabama. For her talent, she sang the song “A Darker Shade of Blue” from the Broadway musical “Some Like It Hot” (see clip below). Donegan gets the title of Miss America 2026, as well as a $50,000 scholarship check.
* $50,000 scholarship? That’s not enough for community college these days.
* Plus she’s Miss New York. In New York City, $50,000 is only worth $25,000 in normal money.
* One of the first headlines I saw was “Newly Crowned Miss America 2026 Responds to Online Hate.” So enjoy your reign, Cassie!
* Miss America? Yes, I think we all do.
* The talent competition was very interesting this year. For her talent, Miss Texas redistricted Houston.
