WORKING THE DRIVE-THRU
Reddit asked, “Drive-through window workers, what’s something memorable you’ve seen inside a customer’s car?” Some of the responses:P
– “Guy pulls up with a parrot on his shoulder, both wearing matching sunglasses”
– “I once was holding the bag out the window and when the car pulled up, a macaque [a monkey] grabbed it, took it to the front passenger seat, and started helping itself to the french fries.”
– “A porcupine on the passenger seat.”
– “One car with five chihuahuas in baby outfits, sitting like little humans. They even had hats. One was wearing sunglasses.”
– “We used to have a guy come through on horseback every so often, and horses don’t trigger the drive through chime, so every time they showed up was a jump-scare.”
– “Garbage filling every nook and cranny except the driver seat right up to the ceiling. You could barely see out the windshield.”
– “Dudes entire car was filled with mail… I’m talking every single inch to the roof in the backseat, front seats up to the windshield literally all of it. He could only put his window down MAYBE 3/4 inches to slide a $5 bill through because mail was about to spill out. He managed to pull his sandwich through the same crack.”
– “When I worked at Starbucks a woman was eating a ceramic bowl of soup in her lap in the drive through.”
– “I was working as a bank teller about a decade ago and witnessed a child in the backseat of a car yank his tooth out with a pair of pliers.”
– “Two Amish kids driving a horse and buggy coming up to the drive through window to order a 12 pack of Schlitz beer.”
