FACEBOOK WANTS TO KNOW IF IT IS “GOOD FOR THE WORLD”

Facebook has sent out a poll asking users whether they think Facebook is “good for the world”. The survey was sent to an unspecified number of people. It appears under the heading, “We’d like to do better,” when users log in. Possible responses range from “strongly agree” to “strongly disagree.” The company has been grappling with a privacy scandal, reports of election meddling and other nefarious actions of so-called “bad actors”. CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said he wants to ensure that Facebook is a force for good.
* Good luck with that.
* Don’t answer it – they’ll know you’re the kind of person who takes surveys and you’ll never see the end of it.
* How bad are these “bad actors”, on a scale of 1 to Kristen Stewart?
* Actually, “We’d like to do better” means “Our stock is down 20% since February 1st, and we’ve GOT to do SOMETHING!”
* Facebook has lowered productivity, caused relationships to end, caused careers to implode, forced unwanted advertising on you, passed around scams that have taken millions of dollars from unsuspecting people, and gives you “text neck” from looking at it all the time, so… yeah, it’s been quite the blessing.
* Facebook, you can give yourself a big facepalm.
