IRISHMAN’S 16 THINGS THAT BUG HIM ABOUT AMERICA

Benny Lewis, an Irishman, spent a year traveling the United States. While he loves America, here are 16 things that bug him:
1. Americans are way too sensitive
2. Everything is “awesome”!
3. Smiles mean NOTHING. Everybody smiles all the time. How can you tell when someone means it?
4. Tipping. It’s not a bloody tip if it’s mandatory. Also, it was terribly annoying to be in restaurants and having a waitress interrupt me every 3 minutes asking me if everything is OK.
5. False prices on everything
6. Cheesy in-your-face marketing, especially TV commercials
7. Wasteful consumerism
8. American stereotypes of other countries
9. Heritage. Every American you meet is not actually pure American.
10. ID checks & stupid drinking laws
11. Corporations win all the time, not small businesses
12. A country designed for cars, not humans
13. Always in a hurry
14. Obsession with money
15. Unhealthy portions
16. Thinking America is the best
* Dude – we know. Why do you think we’re so crabby?
* What’s with all the capitalism-bashing? What do they have in Ireland? Barter?
* If you ever go to Europe, you will quickly learn this: America is the land of hot tap water, ice cubes, and shower stalls larger than one square foot.
* At least he couldn’t complain about how hard it was to find potatoes with every meal.
* Funny him being Irish and forgetting to mention not being able to find warm beer.
