CHICK-FIL-A GIVES FREE ICE CREAM IF YOU DON’T USE YOUR CELL PHONE
The Chick-fil-A restaurant chain is offering customers in 150 of their stores something they call a “Cell Phone Coop,” a box for families to ditch their cell phones while they eat. Families who are able to go the whole meal without picking up their phones receive a free Chick-fil-A Icedream cone. Brad Williams, a Chick-fil-A operator in Suwanee, Georgia, who came up with the idea, said, “We really want our restaurant to provide a sense of community for our customers, where family and friends can come together and share quality time with one another.” He says the promotion has caught on. “We have families who aren’t successful the first time and come back to try again.”
* Oh, my god – you mean I’d have to talk to my family?
* Making us choose between our phone and free ice cream? That’s just mean.
* “A sense of community … family and friends … come together … share quality time …” You’re a chicken joint. Get over yourself.
* Oh, and “Icedream cone”? Real cute.
* Families who have taken advantage of the Cell Phone Coop are pretty unanimous when they say, “Hey – who took my cell phone?”
* How about a Cone of Silence like in “Get Smart”?
* Translation: They just want their name out there so instead of an ad campaign you use the media to do it.
* It’s the Donald Trump technique.
* What if you prefer the sense of community with the people on your cellphone?
