AUDIO: BEATLES’ SONS RECORD A SONG TOGETHER
The sons of three of the Beatles — Sean Ono Lennon, 49, son of the late John Lennon; James McCartney, 47, son of Paul McCartney; and 59-year-old Zak Starkey, son of Ringo Starr — have collaborated on a new single called “Rip Off,” which Zak Starkey posted a clip of on Instagram over the weekend. It’s the first time that three Beatles kids have come together to make music, although Sean and James had put out the tune “Primrose Hill” last year. Dhani Harrison, son of George, isn’t on the song.
* I think the story got it wrong. It sounds like each Beatle boy did their own song, and now they’re playing them all together at the same time.
* It’s called “Rip Off”? Truth in advertising.
* What a weird coincidence – they all got their MOTHER’S musical genes.
* Or maybe musical talent skips a generation?
* You know, it does sound like a Beatles song: “Revolution #9”
* If only Beatles producer George Martin were still alive so he could tell them, “This is rubbish.”
CLIP: A bit of “Rip Off” by the Beatle boys.

THE BUZZ
BLACK COFFEE = LONGER LIFE
A study tracking nearly 50,000 American adults for more than a decade found that coffee drinkers lived longer than those who did not drink coffee. However… the life-extending benefits were only seen in people who drank black coffee or coffee with very little added sugar and saturated fat. The study, from Tufts University and published in The Journal of Nutrition, found that a daily cup of black coffee could be cutting your risk of dying early by up to 17%, compared to non-coffee drinkers. The greatest benefit appeared in people drinking 2 to 3 cups a day. Coffee drinks high in sugar and saturated fat showed no protective effects, potentially eliminating coffee’s health benefits entirely.
* Why does Starbucks want to kill off their customer base?
* Is the reverse true? Can a cup of black coffee cancel out the sugar and fat in a donut?
* All I know is, if I DON’T have my coffee, everybody around me will have a shorter life.
* So it’s definitely the coffee, and not any of the hundreds of other things like environment or work or lifestyle choices that will make you live longer. Good to know.
Speaking of black coffee – just for fun, here’s a story we covered in 2017:
DO YOU DRINK YOUR COFFEE BLACK? YOU’RE A PSYCHOPATH
If you like your coffee black, you may be a psychopath. According to a study published in the journal Appetite, researchers at the University of Innsbruck found a correlation between a love of black coffee and sadist or psychopathic tendencies. The researchers surveyed more than 1,000 adults, asking them to give their food and flavor preferences. The participants then took a series of personality tests assessing antisocial personality traits, such as sadism, narcissism and psychopathy. A preference for bitter flavors was linked to psychopathic behavior. Besides coffee, the study also found participants who reported a fondness for radishes, celery and tonic water were also more likely to exhibit antisocial traits.
* Coincidentally, some of the researchers working with the psychopaths have gone missing.
* A preference for bitter flavors? Watch out for those kids with lemonade stands.
* Try me in the morning WITHOUT my black coffee. I’ll show you a REAL psychopath.
U.S. NEWS
MAN BLOWS UP CASINO TOILET
In Salt Lake City, Utah, a man was arrested Saturday after police say he assaulted a victim, claiming they were a werewolf. Police say Jose Manuel Perez, 24, and the victim were having lunch when Perez grabbed the man in a choke hold. He then pulled out a wooden stake with a nail in it, telling the victim they were a werewolf and that “he was going to pierce his heart.” The victim was able to escape, and Perez ran off with the man’s backpack, but police found him and took him into custody. Police also found several rocks in Mr. Perez’s pocket. He told police he carried them out of fear the victim was going to attack him. He then admitted to stealing the backpack, but argued that since officers “got it back to the victim,” he couldn’t be charged with robbery.
* Why, that’s absolutely right, sir, you are free to go.
* What pushed the attacker over the edge was when the other guy ordered a bowl of raw pork.
* Wooden stakes are for vampires, silver bullets are for werewolves. Jeeze, if you’re gonna be crazy at least get your lycanthropy right.
* So, what were the rocks for? The Mummy?
* And they didn’t even get to order dessert.
MAN ROBS WEREWOLF
A Pennsylvania man was arrested for blowing up a casino toilet with a “commercial-grade” firework after he was caught trying to steal bottles of alcohol from a restaurant. Security at the Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh caught Jeremy Allen Hartman trespassing inside a closed restaurant early last Sunday morning. He was trying to steal a bottle of alcohol valued at $4,000. While being escorted to the Casino’s secure holding area, he asked to use the restroom. While in the employee restroom, he allegedly lit a firework and put it in the toilet. It exploded, and a casino employee who was also using the restroom was injured. Authorities found more commercial-grade fireworks in Hartman’s vehicle.
* Not the first thing to go bust at a casino.
* That’s it – from now on, cavity searches!
* Looks like he was playing his own version of craps, and doing it the hard way.
* The Rivers Casino – It’s a Blast!
* The firecracker worked, but this guy’s a dud.
NUDIST ADMITS TO KILLING NEIGHBORS OVER A HOT DOG
A man who killed his neighbors at a Redlands, California, nudist resort last August reportedly did so over a hot dog. Michael Sparks, 62, allegedly killed his neighbors Daniel Menard, 79, and Stephanie Menard, 73, in August 2024. Human remains were found under Sparks’ home at the Olive Dell Ranch Nudist Resort. Sparks and the Menards did not get along, but in a court hearing on Monday, it came out that the final straw was a hot dog. A fellow inmate at the West Valley Detention Center reported to authorities that Sparks admitted to the killings and disclosed that he brutally beat the couple with a rake, a hoe and a hammer. The incident started over a hot dog that Daniel Menard had purchased for Mr. Sparks. According to the inmate, “Mr. Sparks felt that the hot dog was a jab at him, making him feel like he was worth only a dollar hot dog, and that’s what set him off that day.”
* Taking a guess here, but I don’t think that’s what the hot dog meant.
* Was he expecting his neighbor to bring him a kielbasa?
* Should have brought a pizza.
* If only the neighbors had brought some nice buns, it might have evened out.
* I know hot dogs are bad for you, but this is nuts.
* Anyway, those are the bare facts of the case.

SEAN COMBS TRIAL: TUESDAY JUNE 17
Here is what happened at Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex-and-drug trafficking trial on Tuesday:
– Jurors watched roughly 20 minutes of what appeared to be video footage created between 2012 and 2014 of the elaborate sexual “Freak Offs” that Combs would organize. Jurors were all wearing earphones, and the monitors that had been used during testimony were cut off to the courtroom gallery. At one point, the gallery could hear the faint sound of heavy breathing, and the judge reminded jurors to make sure that their headphones were fully on because the microphone feed appeared to be picking up the video.
– DeLeassa Penland, a special agent for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, was on the stand to go over details of evidence from alleged “freak offs” in New York and Los Angeles between Combs, former girlfriend Cassie Ventura and others. For example, Penland provided three American Express statements of as much as $944,059 from Combs. The documents included a $4,000 a day hotel suite and $46,786 in damages to the penthouse of the Intercontinental New York in Times Square on Oct. 5, 2012.
