ZULU KING’S FIRST WIFE TRIES TO BLOCK HIM FROM TAKING A THIRD WIFE

The first wife of the king of South Africa’s Zulu Kingdom failed in an effort to legally block her husband’s attempt to take a third wife. King Misuzulu kaZwelithini married first wife Queen Ntokozo in 2021, the year before he ascended to the throne. He took a second wife in 2022. There is no reason given as to why that wedding wasn’t blocked. Now, wanting to marry a third time, Ntokozo sued to stop it. A judge ruled Monday that the king’s wedding to wife #3, Nomzamo Myeni, could proceed. Despite the ruling, though, that third marriage has been put on hold.
