WALLETHUB’S SAFEST CITIES IN THE U.S.

WalletHub has come up with a list of America’s Safest Cities of 2024. They compared 182 cities, including at least two of the most populated cities in each state. The team focused on three key dimensions: Home and community safety, the risk of natural disasters, and financial safety. Here are America’s Top Ten Safest Cities:

1. South Burlington, Vermont
2. Casper, Wyoming
3. Warwick, Rhode Island
4. Burlington, Vermont
5. Boise, Idaho
6. Yonkers, New York
7. Cedar Rapids, Iowa
8. Columbia, Maryland
9. Portland, Maine
10. Virginia Beach, Virginia
* Sure, it’s easy to have a safe city IF NOBODY LIVES THERE.
* How does South Burlington come out to be the safest city, yet North Burlington is nowhere on the list?

The Five Least Safe Cities:
178. New Orleans, Louisiana
179. Baton Rouge, Louisiana
180. Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
181. Detroit, Michigan
182. Memphis, Tennessee
* It doesn’t help Louisiana and Florida that we’re having tropical storms and hurricanes.
* Well, this is certainly one of the most racist lists we’ve seen in awhile. (Seriously, google “racial mix” of any of these cities.)
