AUDIO: PEEPY THE PLUSH TOY
[Note: This is a weird story about a little pop culture cult toy that appears to be breaking through on social media. There doesn’t seem to be any point about Peepy except that Peepy just IS. It exists. And this excites the young people with too much time on their hands. Peepy could be an upcoming fad. It could just fizzle out. But at least you can say you knew about Peepy before most other people did. Google it, maybe you can find more info than we did.]
Have you ever heard of Peepy? It’s a weird little novelty plush toy that’s been around since 2020, but is starting to emerge on social media. It comes from a company called “ItemLabel”, which describes itself as a “revenge-based” company that sells clothing and plush items meant to be used as art objects.
– There are several versions of the Peepy, but the most obvious one is shaped like a large peanut with short pig-like legs, a duckbill mouth, large dead eyes, and a black-and-white cow pattern. The appeal of Peepy is not so much the actual doll, but the mythology the maker has created around it.
– Each toy comes with a backstory that tells you Peepy has committed a crime at some point. He has been in jail but is now released on bail. Peepy’s various crimes include breaking promises, stealing peanuts, robbery, jewelry heist, kelp theft, sports rigging, lunch money theft, lockpicking, poisoning, loitering and public nudity.
– Here is Peepy’s “canon,” as the nerds like to say:
– Known for loving Peanuts
– Strength is grass eating
– Wisdom is accounting
– Physical ability is missing time
– Weakness is being probed
– Birthday is June 29th (Unknown year)

“La la la lovely tiny pee Peepy / I wanna hug to the my boy / Let’s be together every day / With yum foods in cute kitchen / My dream is to eat the peanuts with you every day / Close your eyes / Your dream for the night is to swim in the peanut pool / My dream for the life is to eat peanuts with Peepy.”
* Good to see the brown acid is still out there after all these years.
* Based upon the syntax and non-sequiturs, I’m going with this is a Japanese thing. (Either that, or it’s a “joke” from the anti-comedy team of Tim & Eric.)
