COUPLE ARE THE ONLY GUESTS AT 5-STAR RESORT

An American couple went on vacation at the five-star Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos in Mexico. They discovered they were the only guests there. The man, named Cameron, and his wife said at first it felt like a joke and then turned into a strange experience, “like an episode from ‘Black Mirror.’” On their first day they noticed that the resort seemed strangely vacant. They discovered they were the only ones participating in resort activities, the only ones in the restaurants, and the only two people on the beach. Cameron began pondering the costs of maintaining such a grand establishment with no other patrons. Lights, air conditioning, fire pits – they were all functioning. When reached for comment, a representative for the resort said they are there to accommodate no matter what.

* What did they do? Tell their travel agent: “Find us the least popular resort in Mexico”?
* The conga line by the pool must have been a bit of a letdown.
* At least they didn’t wander out back and find all the bodies.
* This is either the plot of a Hallmark movie, or a lost episode of Westworld on HBO.
