JAPANESE MAN BLOWS UP APARTMENT TRYING TO KILL COCKROACH

A Japanese man trying to kill a single cockroach with bug spray blew up his own apartment. It happened early Sunday in the city of Kumamoto on the island of Kyushu. The 54-year-old man said he spotted a solitary cockroach inside his apartment and sprayed a massive amount of insecticide on it. A minute later, the fumes exploded, blowing out a balcony window. The man’s kotatsu – a Japanese heating table – likely set off the blast. The man suffered a minor injury.
