POLICE SHOOT MAN COMING OUT OF PORTA-POTTY

Police in West Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, shot a man following a brief standoff at a porta-potty. According to a witness, heavily-armed officers abruptly descended on the street and trained their weapons on a porta-potty situated on an empty lot. Officers were shouting at the man to exit the porta-potty. After 20 minutes or so (* which seems about right), he came out and then they shot him, said the witness. The suspect was not killed. He was taken away in an ambulance. Crime scene tape is now set up in the area surrounding the porta-potty. Police are preparing a statement about the incident.
