AUDIO: PREVIEW OF BRITNEY SPEARS’ BOOK
Bombshells are starting to drop from the upcoming Britney Spears tell-all. The memoir, The Woman in Me, hits shelves next Tuesday, October 24. Meanwhile, here are some of the revelations, so you won’t have to buy it:
– The Abortion: Spears writes that she became pregnant with Justin Timberlake’s child while they were dating. She got an abortion at Timberlake’s urging, she writes, “I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated. But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father. To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life.”
– The Snake Dance: At the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards Britney danced with a boa snake around her. “All I knew was to look down, because I felt if I looked up and caught its eye, it would kill me. What nobody knows is that as I was singing, the snake brought its head right around to my face, right up to me, and started hissing.”
– The Head Shaving: “I’d been eyeballed so much growing up, had people telling me what they thought of my body, since I was a teenager. Shaving my head and acting out were my ways of pushing back. But under the conservatorship I was made to understand that those days were now over. I had to grow my hair out and get back into shape. I had to go to bed early and take whatever medication they told me to take.”
– Body Shaming By Her Father: She also disclosed that her father would body shame her under the conservatorship. “If I thought getting criticized about my body in the press was bad, it hurt even more from my own father. He repeatedly told me I looked fat and that I was going to have to do something about it.”
-The Conservatorship: “The conservatorship stripped me of my womanhood, made me into a child. I became more of an entity than a person onstage. I had always felt music in my bones and my blood; they stole that from me. If they’d let me live my life, I know I would’ve followed my heart and come out of this the right way and worked it out. I think back now on my father and his associates having control over my body and my money for that long and it makes me feel sick.”
* “And the only way to feel better is TO TAKE MY SHIRT OFF FOR THE CAMERA!!!”
* Those are the big stories right there. I wonder what she fills the rest of the book with. Recipes?
* Sorry, Britney. This month is all about Taylor Swift.

TOM CRUISE GAVE TIMOTHEE CHALOMET TIPS
Tom Cruise once gave Timothée Chalamet tips on what he would need to succeed in Hollywood. In an interview in the November GQ, Chalamet revealed that Cruise sent him “the most wonderfully inspiring email” after Chalamet finished the first “Dune” movie. The email said, “In Old Hollywood, you would be getting dance training and fight training,” but nobody does that today, so he would have to go out and get his own training. The note even included names of experts he might need for stunt training, including motorcycle and helicopter coaches.
* And hanging off of airplane coaches, and holding your breath for three minutes coaches.
* “I also have some great names for facelifts, but that’s a ways off.”
* That reminds me – I really wanna see the next Dune mov- oh, wait. 2024. Never mind.
* Looks like Cruise is prepping him for a Mission Impossible Babies movie.
THE BUZZ
PARENTAL PUNISHMENT
From HuffPost Parents Facebook community, here are some of the crazy things parents will do to to kids as punishment:
– “I took all the cords for electronics away, worst I’ve done. The things they would do for chargers and HDMI cords!”
– “I saw that my son left his bike unlocked at school. To teach him a lesson, I rode it home. I thought he’d come home humbled. Instead he called the cops. An officer found me walking and said, ‘We have you on camera taking a bike.’”
– “My parents punished me by taking away my iPhone & giving me a Nokia for a month.”
– “I was misbehaving as a child on Christmas Eve, my Italian grandma punished me by feeding me Chef Boyardee.”
– “My dad one time came home and was mad that everyone was watching TV and no one even acknowledged him — so he walked over to the TV and cut the cord.”
– “My dad got tired of my sister slamming doors so he took the door off the hinges and burned it in the front yard. Years later, he admitted he only made a spectacle about burning it since he already planned on buying upgraded doors for the house.”
– “When I was 7, I wanted to go as Mario for Halloween. I ended up getting in trouble in school, and my Mom punished me by getting me a Luigi costume.”
– “I had a coworker who was having trouble with her teenage son. She took all his favorite things and plastic wrapped them to the dining room table — where he could see them every time he walked through to his bedroom. She said it worked — he gradually earned it all back.”
– “My mom taught me a lesson when I was a kid about opening the door for people I don’t know. One time a Jehovah witness came knocking & I opened the door & went and got my mom. A week later the Jehovah’s Witness lady came back & my mom let her in the house & made me talk with her at our kitchen table.”
* PHONE TOPIC: Did your parents ever punish you in a weird way?
LITTLE-USED BABY BOY NAMES
Steph Coffield, a baby name consultant based in Minnesota, has come up with a list of 10 boy names from 2022 that are so unique, less than 10 babies have been given these names. Most of them are kinda cool, actually:
– Breckett (* Sounds like a curse word: “Ow! Breckett, Timmy, I told you to not leave your Legos on the floor!”)
– Cline
– Delfino (* Does it rhyme with “Hell if I know”?)
– Frey (Rhymes with fray.)
– Guthrie (* Great choice for hillbillies.)
– Ludo (* I love that song – “Ludo Shuffle” by Boz Scaggs!)
– Novian (* Ask your doctor if Novian is right for you.)
– Pacen (* “I was Pacen and Pacen, trying to think of a baby name.”)
– Rennick (* Good name for an 80’s cop: “RENNICK!!! Your badge and gun on my desk – now!”)
– Ulrik (* The name that sounds like you’re about to hurl: ULL-rik!)
* Is is too late to change my son’s name to Ludo? He’s 28.
* “Baby Name Consultant.” Another job that’s going to be replaced by AI.
U.S. NEWS
THE BARBIE BOTOX
The newest Barbie-inspired trend comes to us from the world of cosmetic surgery. It’s called the “Barbie Botox,” medically known as “trapezius Botox” (* Trapezius was Barbie’s name before she changed it for show biz). A shot of Botox stops the trapezius muscle – a triangle which runs from the back of your neck to the shoulders – from contracting, which slenderizes the neck and mimics the long, smooth neck of a Barbie doll. It also has also been proven to relieve neck pain and headaches. The procedure, which costs around $2,000, is said to be trending now.
* Get it now, you can go Trick-or-Treating as a flamingo.
* I can’t think of a better reason to medically alter your body than, “I want to look like a plastic toy.”
* When the Botox wears off, does your neck collapse and you end up looking lie Jabba the Hut?
* Everyone wants the Barbie Botox, but no one’s talking about the Ken Crotch Conversion.
* $2,000. Of course, before the Barbie hoopla, it was 600 bucks.
WANTED MAN TRIES TO THROW OFF COPS WITH CLEVER SIGNAGE
A man in Florida attempted to evade arrest by putting up a sign in front of his home saying he did not live there. Deputies went to a home in Lakeland on Saturday after receiving a tip that Johnny Yates, who was wanted on aggravated battery and tampering charges, lived there. The deputies found a big white dry-erase board by the front door that read: “Johnny Yates does NOT live here!!” When the deputies spotted someone leaving the house, they questioned them about Yates. The individual told deputies that, yes, Yates was inside the home. The deputies surrounded the house and began calling out to Yates on a speaker, but he didn’t respond. After an hour, deputies tried smoking him out. Four more people left the home, but Yates didn’t. Deputies went in and discovered Yates hiding inside a chest of drawers.
* Well…………. he always was a snappy dresser.
* On the outside was a Post-It note saying “Johnny Yates is NOT in this dresser!!”
* You can’t put much past a Florida deputy, can you?
* Johnny Yates was right. You call that livin’?
CURSIVE RETURNING TO CALIFORNIA SCHOOLS
California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill last Friday that will require cursive instruction in first through sixth grade. Cursive instruction has been dropped by many schools in America, under the premise that kids write everything on their computers these days. Research shows there are benefits to learning cursive letters – it activates different parts of the brain that do not get activated when printing block letters or typing. California dropped it 13 years ago. Now, they’ve found high school students who cannot read and write in cursive and have difficulty reading historical documents.
* They’ll be able to read the Declaration of Independence and wonder why they called it the Pur-fuit of Happiness?
* Without cursive, how will today’s student recognize the Coca-Cola logo? Or Campbell’s Soup? Or Instagram, or Vimeo?
* I wonder what’ll be worse – the kids’ hand pain or the teachers’ eyestrain?
* California – proudly leading the way back to 1950.
* As Matthew McConaughey would say, “All write, all write, all write.”
TRENDINGPROSECUTORS TAKING ANOTHER LOOK AT “RUST” SHOOTING
New Mexico prosecutors will convene a grand jury to weigh recharging Alec Baldwin with involuntary manslaughter in the 2021 shooting death of the cinematographer on the set of the movie “Rust.” The decision comes after a five-month investigation that culminated with a forensic expert issuing a report clashing with an account of the incident from Baldwin, who maintained that he did not pull the trigger on the firearm when it discharged. New Mexico prosecutors in April dropped charges against the actor to review new evidence suggesting that the gun he was holding had been modified. They reserved the ability to refile charges. In a statement, special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis said that “additional facts have come to light that we believe show Mr. Baldwin has criminal culpability.” Baldwin’s lawyers, said in a statement, “It is unfortunate that a terrible tragedy has been turned into this misguided prosecution. We will answer any charges in court.”
