FAKE NAMES

This is an offbeat topic that might generate some conversation. Reddit asked, “If you had to give a false name off the top of your head, which would you give and why?” For example, on “Seinfeld,” George would always use the fake name “Art Vandelay.” Here are some of the Reddit responses. Some may be from pop culture, most sound like the person has put some thought into it:
– “Regina Phalange”
– “Jackie Daytona”
– “Dirk McIntyre because it’s the first name I thought of. It sounds real enough to be real, but rare enough to be plausible.”
– “Del Monte”
– “Usually I go with Jacob Green or if I’m feeling confident, Edward Elric.”
– “Manny Petty”
– “Jarod [blank]. Fill in the blank with something I see around me. I grew up with the show Pretender at a formative age, that’s how he did it.”
– “Lorenzo von Matterhorn”
– “George Glass”
– “Dingle McCringleberry”
– “Rykoff Sexton”
– “Penelope Bottom is the first thing that came to mind. Don’t think I’ll be getting into the spy game.”
– “Karen Christiani. It was an alias I made in high school to pretend I was a family member of myself. I was my own cuter cousin.”
– “Alexis Moon, nickname Nyx. Had my secret identity planned out since I was 8.”
– “Hunter Mara, stole it off a guy from college who used it as his fake name.”
– “James Gerard Kohanski. Because it sounds good when yelling it at the top of your lungs. Really flows.”
– “Fred Gazahstahaagen. My Dad used to use this name when checking into hotels or ordering something at a restaurant. I grew up with Fred’s name called out at countless restaurants and hotels and anywhere else someone needed a name to announce over the PA.”
