WOMAN WHO KNOCKED FROM INSIDE HER COFFIN DIES

The Ecuadorian woman who had been declared dead and surprised her relatives by knocking on her coffin during her wake this month has died after seven days in intensive care. The woman’s son said she died last Friday evening. In a story that made heal dines around the world, Bella Montoya was unconscious on June 9 when she was brought to an emergency room. A few hours later a doctor informed the family she was dead and handed over identity documents and a death certificate. Family members then brought her to a funeral home and were holding a wake when they started to hear strange sounds from the coffin – Ms. Montoya knocking from inside. She was taken back to the hospital, but finally died on Friday. Her remains have been returned to the same funeral home where she woke up.
