BEACH RESORT GUESTS ATTACKED BY PIRANHA

A school of piranhas attacked vacationers swimming in a stream at a Brazilian beach. At least eight people were injured as the fish tore at the bathers’ legs and feet with their razor-sharp teeth, driving them out of the water and back onto the beach along the Tarumã-Açu River, a tributary of the Amazon River. There are resort hotels and several floating restaurants along the river. Local officials believe the feeding frenzy was a case of “mistaken identity” and that the piranhas have become used to eating food that visitors at the restaurants sometimes throw into the river.
* Which is naturally the most fun if you do it while people are swimming.
* For the swimmers’ sake, I hope it wasn’t a nude beach.
* They ran back onto the beach with their bloody legs and toes. And that’s when the anaconda struck.
* That’s one way to get tourists to want to pay admission into the local water park.
* What’s worse – ravenous piranhas or hungry, hungry hippos? Let’s open the phones.
