TENANTS WANTED RENT REDUCTION OVER NUDE LANDLORD
A German court ruled Wednesday that just because a landlord sunbathes naked in the courtyard of his building, that’s no reason for a reduction in rent. The case involved a building in an upmarket residential district of Frankfurt, which included an office space. That space was rented by a human resources company which stopped paying rent because of the landlord’s naked sunbathing. In response, the landlord sued. The judge found in favor of the naked landlord, stating that the “property was not impaired by the plaintiff sunning himself naked.”
* Insufficient evidence, I’m guessing.
* The naked landlord claimed he also provided a valuable service, as a sundial.
* He sunbathes naked, and yet the tenants get burned.
* If only the landlord could have been Channing Tatum.
* This problem could be solved easily with a drone and some fire ants.
* Anyway, it was quite the legal flap.
