FIRST LIGHTSABER TOURNAMENT HELD IN FRANCE

Over this past weekend, France hosted it’s first lightsaber championship, four years after the national fencing federation recognized lightsabering as a competitive sport. Sixty French nerds battled it out with colored flashlights affixed with long plastic tubes in a fencing-like competition. Each competitor, wearing pads and a mask, tries to hit their opponent, each part of the body earning a certain number of points. To win, you have to be the first to reach 15 points or to have won the most points in three minutes. The winner of the tournament was…. well it doesn’t really matter, does it? They guy’s still gonna have his lunch money stolen.
* I’m sorry – how was this not on ESPN???
* It’s France. They should be dueling on bicycles. Like lightsaber jousting on Schwinns.
* Isn’t Paris known as the City of Lightsaber?
* Winner got a trophy. Losers had to sit through Attack of the Clones again.
