CIRCUS PERFORMER INJURED ON “WHEEL OF DEATH”
A circus performer in the Netherlands was injured Wednesday evening after falling off of an act known as the Wheel of Death. Kerstcircus Haarlem said the accident happened during the Christmas circus at the Reinaldapark in Haarlem. The Wheel of Death is a contraption that looks like a double Ferris Wheel. The performer starts off inside one of the wheels, running like a hamster to make it spin. They then climb to the outside of the cage and run around on the outside of the wheel, tempting death. Hence, the name. The injured performer reportedly fractured several ribs in the fall. There were many people in the audience at the time of the incident, including children. Victim support services were being arranged for them to help cope with the event that they witnessed, the circus said.
* It’s right there in the name, you know.
* The maybe need to change it to Wheel of Incapacity.
* Since nobody died, did the people get their money back?
* In the circus, they call this “pulling a Wallenda.”
* While you’re being treated for watching a circus accident, can they also treat you for exposure to clowns?
* I wouldn’t be caught dead in a Wheel of Death.
