WORLD CHEESE AWARDS

The 2022 edition of the World Cheese Awards are over. This year’s winner: a gruyère from Switzerland, described as a “really refined, hand-crafted cheese” that melts on the tongue and has notes of herbs, fruits and leather. A cheese with a lot of taste and bouquet.” The gruyère is slightly crumbly and made from raw cow’s milk. Coming in second place was a Gorgonzola Dolce, a soft, blue buttery cheese made by De’ Magi from Italy.
* The winner was described as being “as cheesy as a Hallmark Channel movie.”
* That’s what I always look for in my cheese: the taste of leather.
* Cheese from Switzerland and Italy. Nice. Last night I had a grilled cheese made with Velveeta.
* The losers were, as they always are, cheesed off.
