IRISH STEP DANCING: THE FIX IS IN

Just as the world is rising from its fainting couch over accusations of cheating the high-stakes arena of competitive chess, now there’s a scandal in the world of competitive Irish step dancing. The Irish Dancing Commission based in Dublin has announced an investigation into claims that numerous Irish dance teachers had been rigging competition results. Some 12 instructors were implicated, and at least six other teachers are also suspected of cheating. The fixing allegations go back several years. At least one teacher and a judge appeared to be exchanging sexual favors for higher scores. The Commission has recruited a former Irish judge to quickly handle the probe.
