MAN WHO RUSHED THE QUEEN’S CASKET WANTED TO MAKE SURE SHE WAS DEAD
If you saw any of the stories about the funeral of Queen Elizabeth, you heard about the man arrested last Friday for rushing up and trying to grab the flag draped over the monarch’s casket as she lay in state at Westminster Hall. It has come out in court that the man, Muhammad Khan, was checking to see if she was alive. A live television feed showed him darting out of line and climbing up the steps and touching the late monarch’s coffin. He said that he believed Queen Elizabeth was still alive and wanted to check for himself.
* “The Queen is dead, long live the Queen” is just a saying, right?
* Look, I know their National Health Service isn’t the greatest, but seriously?
* Did he think she was pining for the fjords? (From Monty Python’s Parrot Sketch – see audio clip)
* This is why we can’t have nice things – or take Muhammad Kahn anywhere.
* A joke: Knock knock, / Who’s there? / Grandma. / Oh, my god, open the coffin lid!
