AUDIO: BRITISH DEBATE MODERATOR FAINTS DURING BROADCAST
A British television moderator of a debate between the country’s two prime ministerial candidates collapsed live on the air. Kate McCann was moderating the debate between the two leading Conservative Party candidates – Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak – who are vying to succeed Boris Johnson as prime minister. While Liz Truss is talking, a loud thud is heard in the background and she exclaims, “Oh my God!” as Kate McCann faints. She is reportedly doing OK. The incident happened about half an hour into the debate, as Truss and Sunak sparred over taxes, the soaring cost of living, the National Health Service and the situation with Putin.
