MASSIVE BINGO WIN

During during a large community bingo game last Saturday in the Brazilian town of Iparana, the caller called out the number 49, and 101 bingo players simultaneously yelled out “Bingo!” and rushed the stage to claim their prize. Normally, there aren’t that many winners in one game. Game organizer Mauricio Facanha said the mistake was caused by a glitch with the printer. All the winners lined up to claim their share of the prize, 1,000 Brazilian dollars (or $184 US dollars) split 101 ways. Everybody won 9.90 Brazilian dollars — although the organizers rounded it up to 10 Brazilian dollars, or $1.85.
