SURVEY: MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS

A new survey of 2,000 people from Guitar Center asked parents about their musical choices for their children.
– 82% of parents think it’s important that their child learn to play an instrument.
* ‘Cause we all know so many people over 30 who still play an instrument and really love it.
– The instrument 18% of parents most want to hear being practiced in their home is the piano.
– The Number 2 pick, according to 17% of respondents, is drums.
– Number 3 is the violin. Number 4 is the guitar.
– When you ask the kids, the top instrument they want to play is the electric guitar.
* 99% of the kids just want to play Spotify.
* The National Association of Tuba Makers have to seriously rethink their marketing plan.
* Thank goodness our schools do everything they can to wean our kids off instruments by giving each of them a cheap plastic recorder in third grade.
* Are you sure they said “drums,” and not “drum machine”? You can make a lot of money just pushing buttons on a drum machine these days.
