AUDIO: MUSIC TEACHER DRIVES BEAR AWAY FROM SCHOOL WITH TROMBONE
A British Columbia music teacher who saw a bear lurking outside the school drove the animal away by playing the trombone. Tristan Clausen, a music teacher at St. John’s Academy in Shawnigan Lake, was alerted to the presence of a bear sniffing around the trash cans outside the school. One teacher attempted to scare the bear away by banging on a door. That didn’t work, so Mr. Clausen reached for his trombone and went out. A video recorded by a student shows the bear being startled by Clausen’s playing and hurriedly leave the area.
* Maybe he was running to go get his trumpet?
* To be fair, nobody wants to hang around and listen to a trombone solo.
* This was a close one. Mr. Clausen’s parents were originally going to have him learn piano.
* This is why you should always hike in the woods with a trombone. A harmonica or piccolo won’t cut it.
CLIP: Sad trombone.
