SURVEY: WOULD YOU RATHER BE SMART AND SAD, OR DUMB AND HAPPY?
A new poll from YouGov asked people whether they would rather be smart and sad or dumb and happy. It turns out, Americans are almost evenly divided. According to a poll of 10,416 people last month:
– 37% of Americans say they would prefer to be dumb and happy. 35% say they would prefer to be smart and sad.
– Among men, 40% would rather be smart and sad, while one-third (33%) would prefer to be dumb but happy.
– Women are more likely to say they would prefer to be dumb and happy (40%) than to choose smart and sad (30%).
* But men — if you’re REALLY smart, you won’t tell your woman the results of this survey.
* I’m smart enough to know this survey is sad.
* This is like describing the audience changeover from for Jeopardy to Wheel of Fortune.
* I’d rather be perspicacious and moribund.
