BRAZILIAN POLITICIANS DUKE IT OUT IN THE RING

In the town of Borba, Brazil, Mayor Simao Peixoto was called out by former city councilor Erineu Alves Da Silva for lack of leadership over how he handled an issue over a local water park. The irate former councilman demanded a fight, which Mayor Peixoto accepted via a Facebook post. He wrote: “I’m not a street fighter… I’m the mayor of Borba. But if he really wants to fight… we’re ready to fight… I’ve always been a winner.” And so, this past weekend, with hundreds of paying spectators packing the gymnasium of a local school, the mayor and the former councilor fought a brutal three-round ultimate fighting-style bout. The mayor landed some painful blows, but also suffered a number of low kicks. In the end, the mayor was declared the winner on points, although the crowd was unhappy at the end and many felt that the wrong man was victorious.
* “Many felt that the wrong man was victorious.” Yeah, we get a lot of that here, too.
* Boy, that would sure solve a lot of problems if politicians did that here in America.
* They could easily turn C-SPAN into a Pay-Per-View, and reduce the deficit in no time.
* Of course, a lot of our politicians would break a hip just climbing into the ring.
