NEWS YOU CAN USE: STOP YOUR KIDS FROM ORDERING FARTS ON ALEXA

British journalist Phil Norris heard a wide-range of simulated farting noises coming from his daughters’ bedroom. He assumed it was just part of the comprehensive service offered by the Alexa virtual assistant in the same way she tells jokes or reads the news. But then he found his account had been debited by £2 ($2.66) for a Christmas Farts Extension Pack by his young children, who ordered the extra farts. Here is how to protect yourself from unwanted purchases through voice purchasing:
– Open the Alexa app.
– Hit the More button to open up the menu choices.
– Head into Settings, Account settings, then Voice Purchasing.
– Turn off voice purchasing OR you can set a voice code.
* Two pounds of farts. In any currency, that’s a lot of farts.
* I bet you parents are glad you got wind of this.
* “Alexa, make an appointment for yourself to see a gastroenterologist.”
* These kids today, buying farts. In my day, we had to make our own.
* Siri does farts, too, but hers are SBD.
