HERO CAT SAVES ELDERLY OWNER
An 83-year-old woman fell down a ravine in Cornwall, England, and her cat helped rescuers find her. The woman had been missing for over an hour, and concerned neighbors called emergency services. While police were searching for her, a passerby heard the cat, Piran, meowing very loudly at the top of a ravine, which alerted them to the woman. Rescuers then saw the woman had fallen 70 feet into a stream, amid what was described as incredibly difficult access and uneven terrain. Rescuers lifted the woman up the ravine on a stretcher and flew her to a hospital in an air ambulance. She is in stable condition.
* The cat wasn’t saying “Hey, over here!” The cat was saying “Feed me,” as cats always do.”
* Actually, what cats always say is “Feed me, but I’m not going to eat it.”
* I’ll never really believe the cat didn’t push the old lady down the hill.
* You don’t see a lot of stories about people in their 80s out walking their cat on the edge of a ravine. Now you know why.
* Still, it’s a nice change from the stories where something happens to the old cat owner at home, and the cat eats them.
