ELON MUSK TO LAUNCH SPACE BILLBOARD

Elon Musk’s SpaceX company has teamed with a Canadian company called Geometric Energy Corporation to make a space billboard. The company is in the process of building a satellite, called a CubeSat. One side of the satellite will have a pixelated video screen where the advertisements, logos, and art will appear. The company plans to load the CubeSat on to a SpaceX rocket, which will take it into orbit. Once in orbit, a camera attached to the side of the CubeSat will film the display screen, and that video will be livestreamed on YouTube or Twitch so anyone can tune in to watch the satellite’s screen. Anyone can place an image on the CubeSat, but you’ll have to pay with a cryptocurrency such as ethereum or dogecoin. The CubeSat will be launched in early 2022.
* Once again, another great use of billions of dollars.
* So I’m going to go on YouTube to look at a screen on a satellite in orbit. So … the screen might just as well be sitting in Elon Musk’s garage, right? Could Elon Musk BE any more whacko?
* Of course, it’s YouTube, so before you can watch the ad on the billboard, you have to watch an ad on YouTube.
* Well, this doesn’t concern me, ’cause I’m not going to be figuring out how cryptocurrency works anytime soon. Like ever.
* Can you imagine flying to the Moon, and on the way you pass a bunch of space billboards? “Celestial Acres – If you lived here you’d be home right now.” Or, “Stuckey’s ahead – 38,000 miles.” Or, “If you’re trying to get to South Of The Border, you’re going the wrong way.”
